The financial world is going through an era of digital transformation. Financial institutions are increasingly using state-of-the-art financial technologies for retaining their competitive advantage and fostering a culture of innovation for effective management of customers, products, and services. Data-driven decision making using machine learning and Big Data has become the norm for leadership in the hyper-digital world. The impact of social media, mobility, Internet of Things, blockchain, and artificial intelligence-based robotics is being felt as firms strive to meet the expectations of the new-age millennial customers through digital mastery. Digital change management in the banking and financial services industry and capital markets needs new capabilities in leaders who have the vision to develop novel technological innovation for transforming the world of banking, trading, risk management, customer management and advisory, payments, and credit management. This program aims to inspire leaders of firms with the required organizational and technological knowhow for creating a novel digital vision for the financial organizations with measurable impact.

Objectives

1. Learn how financial technologies are bringing about a digital transformation in the financial services industry

2. Understand the organizational and technological challenges faced by leaders in driving digital transformation in financial companies.

3. Examine the various global best practices that have been adopted by digital natives and digital innovators of the financial world for creating optimized and flexible processes and transformed products targeting millennial customers.

4. Learn the role played by data analytics and Big Data in problem solving and generation of actionable insights in banking, trading, risk management, customer management and advisory, payments, and credit management.

5. Learn how transformation leaders overcome the challenges of digital transformation through digital mastery in mobility, social media, Internet of Things, blockchain, augmented reality and robotic process automation.

6. Develop a roadmap for digital transformation for the financial organization.

Pedagogy

The pedagogy will be highly interactive. It will leverage use of technology.

Course Duration:

Spread over 5 to 6 months

Mode of Delivery:

The online sessions will be delivered on JITMRL platform through direct-to-desktop [D2D] held twice a week and campus modules at IIM Ahmedabad (Subject to government regulations)

Assessment Methodology:

Participants are assessed on the basis of Online Interaction and attendance criteria fulfilment. For More Information, please refer the brochure.

Certification

At the end of the Programme, eligible participants will receive a Certificate of Completion (CoC) of the Programme from IIM Ahmedabad subject to the assessment and attendance criteria being fulfilled.

IIMA Alumni Status:

Participants who are attending short-duration Executive Education Programmes for the first time, on or after April 1, 2012, will have to attend for a total of 21 days in one or more programmes in order to be eligible for alumni status and alumni identity card, both of which will be awarded on the payment of a one-time alumni fee of INR 10,000/- + GST.

Prof. Anirban Banerjee

Anirban Banerjee is an Assistant Professor in the Finance and Accounting area at the Indian Instituteof Management Ahmedabad. He obtained his Ph.D. from IIM Calcutta. His research interests include the microstructure of financial markets, derivative markets, and algorithmic trading. Before joining IIM Ahmedabad, he was a faculty member at IIM Kozhikode. His research has been published in various peer-reviewed journals and presented at various international conferences. He is also one of the recipients of the NSE-NYU research grant. He has also co-authored a teaching case related to financial risk management.

Prof. Diptesh Ghosh

Prof. Diptesh Ghosh is a Professor of Operations and Decision Sciences at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Research interests include exact and approximate algorithms for discrete optimization problems, especially in facility location and routing. Has published in several reputed international journals, and is a member of several professional operations research societies.

Prof. Indranil Bose

Prof. Indranil Bose is the Nykaa Chair in Consumer Technology and Full Professor of Information Systems at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He also acts as DistinguishedProfessorofInformation Systems at NEOMA Business School in France. Previously he was a faculty member at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, University of Hong Kong, University of Florida, and the University of Texas at Arlington. He has acted as Chairperson of Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics and Co-ordinator of the MIS Group at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and Advisor of Analytics at the State Bank of India. Dr. Bose has extensive teaching, research, consulting, and case writing experience in the fields of business analytics, financial technologies, innovation management, and information strategy. His degrees include BTech (Hons.) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, MS from the University of Iowa, and MS and PhD from Purdue University.

He has published 250+ papers in well-regarded journals and international conferences in the areas of business analytics, digital transformation, financial technologies, innovation, and information security. Among these 100+papers have appeared in top-tier peer-reviewed journals. He is the winner of the EFMD 2017 case competition in the category of ‘Inclusive Models’ and author of several teaching cases published by the Asia Case Research Centre (ACRC) and cross-listed with the Harvard Business School Press. In two recently published articles, he was ranked as the 29th most productive researcher in the world in terms of publications in top-tier journals in Information Systems (2005-2014) and the most productive researcher in terms of quality and quantity among all academics across all disciplines in Indian management schools (2004-2014). He is also listed in the world’s top 2% researchers in the updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators (2022).

Dr. Bose serves on the editorial board of top-tier international journals such as Communications of the AIS, Decision Support Systems, Information & Management, Information Systems Research, Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce etc. He is frequently included as a program committee member for major international conferences and keynote speaker in industry events. Prof. Bose has led numerous short- and long-duration management development programs for executives of public and private sector organizations of India in the areas of general manage- ment, business analytics, digital and social media marketing, FinTech, and digital transformation through innovation.
