Executive Programme in Business Finance - Blended Learning - Batch 05 (EPBF-BL05)

The programme is designed for mid-level and senior executives who have had very little exposure to the Finance function, but who are likely to assume P&L responsibility in the near future. It is also for those managers who think that their role requires significant commercial acumen for effective performance and have not been formally trained in basics of finance and accounting. The programme will cover various topics in the field of Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Management Control Systems, Financial Markets and Corporate Finance taking a top-down perspective. The programme also has a strategic management module to provide broader perspective on the business context and commercial negotiations to build commercial skills.

Objectives

The programme introduces the mid-level senior executives to the technicalities of the finance functions at length. The course shall impart conceptual and practical understanding of accounting, managerial accounting, management control systems, financial markets and corporate finance. The content has been structured to acquaint participants with an integrated view of financial function and intends to make the participants capable of making effective business decisions based on accounting information and financial analysis.

Pedagogy

The teaching approach will be highly interactive using the technological capabilities of the channel. The pedagogy followed for the programme will consist of a blend of lectures, case studies, online lectures, projects, peer-topeer learning, self-learning, role-play and simulations. Mentoring by faculty and access to learning resources of IIMA will also be made available. There will be two campus modules held at IIMA.

Sunday - 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Evaluation Mode:

Evaluation may also include one or more of the following: Online Assessment/Case Study, Discussions/Quiz/Assignments/Offline Assessment (Paper-pencil test)/Class Participation. The final decision on evaluation methods rests with the course faculty and may change without prior intimation.

Mode of Delivery:

Through Classes at Jaro Education, using synchronous Learning Technology platform.

On-campus modules would be conducted subject to prevailing conditions and government advisories. There would not be any refund for not holding such modules.

Certification:

At the end of the Programme, eligible participants will receive a Certificate of Completion (CoC) of the Programme from IIM Ahmedabad subject to the assessment and fulfilment of attaining overall 80% attendance.

Alumni Status:

Participants who are attending short-duration Executive Education Programmes for the first time, on or after April 1, 2012, will have to attend for a total of 21 days in one or more programmes in order to be eligible for alumni status and alumni identity card, both of which will be awarded on the payment of a one-time alumni fee of INR 10,000/- + GST.

Selection:

Selections will be based on evaluation of individual profile & Statement of Purpose (SoP)
